DPhil (part-time) research at the University of Oxford focussing on the life and career of James Nedam, Surveyor of the King’s Works from 1532-44, and the works and workforce he was responsible for. Highlighting the everyday people, communities and industries that contributed to Henry VIII’s built heritage including palaces, manors, parks, gardens, artillery fortifications, dockyards and shipbuilding.
